Brookside has been the home of Villager FC since 1937 and is located in the prime suburb of Claremont and situated on Imam Haron Road, formally known as Landsdowne Road.

Brookside gets its name from the brook, called the Keurbooms River, that at one time flowed romantically alongside the fields, however with the brook flowing with irregular banks, it was decided long ago to incarcerate the brook in a concrete cell and reduce it to a gutter. However the men of Villagers have respected the brooks idyllic past and continue to refer to their home as Brookside and not Gutterside.

The grounds and facilities have seen numerous changes over the years with many “Gray’s” members remembering the old house that served as the clubhouse and the cold showers. Today we have probably one of the best club facilities in the country after the Brookside Office Park was built in the early 2000’s. Although the original plans included a massive new clubhouse for Villagers along the opposite touchline, the unfortunate miscalculation of the ‘A’ fields dimensions condemned the new clubhouse to rubble so that the field could be widened.

Brookside now boasts two fully sized Rugby fields and one smaller one, five change rooms of various sizes, a gym, a squash court, a Pizza Grill and large bar area which doubles up as a conference room as well as ample secure parking both along the field as well as underground.

Match Day Parking

Parking is available to the public in the underground car park and alongside the fields and in times of heavy congestion the ‘C” field. Access costs R10 per car and R10 per person.

To access the underground car park turn to your left from the Imam Haron entrance. The other parking spots as well as the C field is on your right from the main entrance.
