1st XV Match Report vs Kuils River

It turned out to be a hot, dry afternoon out at Kuils River and it seemed all the players on the park were taking some strain. Unfortunately for us failure to make first time tackles, an unwillingness to follow a game plan saw a repeat of the first round encounter.

To date the only side that has come out and categorically fashioned a win against us has been False Bay, the rest we have made winnable games 5 times more difficult for ourselves through our own mistakes and gifting the opposition with easy, un-worked tries. This is a part of the game this side has to remedy in order to start achieving the results we believe they are capable of earning.

A great moment was had when Mike Duncan, after 22years with the club, got his first run on the park off the bench for his 1st team. What a great impact he made, cool and calm, he carried the ball up strongly and showed quality skills in contact. Who says that patience is not rewarded?

The last remaining games of the season are all against top opposition. We know this group is capable of doing what needs to be done however it will take all of them doing the basics right, believing in themselves, their team mates to finish off this season on a high. As the coaching staff we will persevere in helping them on their path to redemption.
