3rd XV MATCH REPORT 21st MAY 2016

It was good day for Rugby despite the challenges face on the day, with a prop pulling out.  Rob Tilsen answered the SOS call from Blake.

The game starting as usual with both sides testing each other out, with great attack play from Villagers and Helderberg.  It was Helderberg to score first 5-0.

Helderberg was awarded a penalty in the 22 after Villagers was penalised for hand in the ruck.  Helderberg converted and the score was 8-0.  Helderberg was penalised on numerous occasion for different offences.  The one that counted was 5 meters from the try line.  A quick tap was taken by Dollie which passed the ball to Rob Tilsen, the opposition was prepared for bulldozing run but Rob surprised them by a skip past to Stephan which scored in the corner.  Half time score 8- 5

Villagers started the second half with some good enterprise play but could not converted it into points.  Helderberg showed their experience by putting pressure on the Villagers boys and slowing down the ball.  Villages was awarded a penalty in front of the polls but Captain Isa decided to tap and go.  Helderberg manage to turn over the ball and this resulted in try for the home team. The try was converted 15-5.  Helderberg showed once again their experienced when they scored the final try of the game.


Final score: 29-05 to Helderberg
