The #AllinForG Fundraising Campaign has thus far seen a great response on social media and t-shirt sales have risen to around 150 courtesy of various individuals as well as the generous donation made by Villager Sponsors ESET Internet Security who donated 100 t-shirts for all Villager players to wear as warm up tops over the next two games, including Derby Day on the 20th of June.
For those unaware of the campaign, the #AllinForG Fundraiser was launched as part of a collective effort between the Shebeen Boys and Villager FC to firstly raise funds for the Chris Burger Petro Jackson Players Fund and raise awareness for Ryan ‘Gary’ Reaper who was seriously injured in a reserve league rugby match a few weeks ago. Ryan has a long road ahead of him and as a rugby community we believe that raising awareness and funds for the Chris Burger Players Fund is an appropriate response to the catastrophic injury Ryan incurred.
Much more needs to be done however to raise the awareness of the campaign as well as the Chris Burger Petro Jackson Players Fund. As part of the strategy we have approached local clubs and schools asking for their support for the campaign by purchasing as many t-shirts as possible before Thursday 11 June where we will be hosting a special club night in honour of Ryan ‘Gary’ Reaper and the #AllinForG Campaign.
The Club Night is open for all players, members and the local rugby community at large and it is encouraged that all wear their #AllinForG T-Shirts on the night. T-Shirts will be available for purchase on the evening or can be purchased on our online shop – see the button below.
