It was a very tight game for the Village boys, with some bad handling errors and silly mistakes. They put themselves under a lot of pressure and the Hands & Hearts team were on the Village try line for most of the first half. The Village boys managed to get out of their own territory wich led to a very good try by the number 6(Noor Petersen) witch put them up 5-0. There was not a lot of time left in the first half when the Hands & Hearts team stuck back with a try of their own in the coner, followed by a very good conversion. Hands & Hearts led the first half by 7 points to 5.
The second half started off very well with Pieter Jordaan going over the try line putting the Village boys in the lead 10-7. Hands & Hearts struck back yet again with a try not long after that followed by a good conversion putting them back in the lead 14-10. The Village boys had a good fight back and created an overlap on the outside wich ensured that the flying wing (Wasseem-mud Davids) went over in the coner. The Village boys were back in the lead 15 points to 14. In the last couple of minutes of the game Hands & Hearts struck back with a penalty kick which put them back in the lead 17-15. The Village boys pulled together and showed some real good discipline and received a penalty in the last minute of the game. Village decided to go for the touch line with the hope that the driving maul off the line out will work. It really did pay off. Village forwards pulled together and showed good intensity which ensured them going over the try line yet again with the replacement flank( Matthew Ranger) scoring the try for the Village boys. Village walked away with a nail biting victory of 20-17.
