Playing for the right reasons sometimes has financial implications for players. Sometimes its means a loss of income (for the ex professionals), and other times it offers a fantastic career opportunity with massive growth potential. This happens when club members look after their own. As has been the case with the recent employment of 2nd XV utility back, Louis Gabriel as a Sales Executive at DiGiCiG Electronic Cigarettes which is owned by 1st XV assistant coach, Graham Lindemann.
Louis ’The Pom’ joined the club last year after moving to Cape Town 2 years ago with his girlfriend (Studying at UCT). Louis excellent leadership skills were honed as captain of Hertfordshire County rugby from ages 17 to under 20 and was also member of the Saracens academy during this time.
Without paying players the ability of the cub to attract and retain players is a difficult prospect, however with our members looking after each other like this we can look forward retaining more players of Louis’ quality in the future.
In an exciting development. Graham is also looking to hire two more Sales Executives – Players are welcome to contact him for more information.
This goes above and beyond the normal call of duty and for that the club wishes to thank Graham for his efforts.
