Villager FC took on Rangers RFC and Violets RFC last week Friday in four games as part of the clubs pre-season preparations. All the clubs players were mixed allowing each player the opportunity to showcase their abilities in front of the coaches. The evening was thoroughly enjoyable and had a large crowd watching the games.
The first game was comfortably won by Villager over Rangers 2nd XV, while the u20s had a good enough start to their season drawing the game 5 all. Although they played some great rugby at times they just failed to put Rangers u20s away.
The 20h00 game was a spectators delight especially in the first half, however the Violets 1st XV eventually secured the win running out as 17 – 12 victors. The final game of the night saw no tries being scored, but the intensity of the game had many a spectator believing this was a league game.
Although the results mean very little at this stage, the big positive of the night was seeing the Villager players throw themselves into the contact points refusing to concede easily. Seeing last years first team players play alongside the rest of the club was a great initiative which bodes well for the club moving forward.
Villager play their second pre-season friendly away against Brackenfell on 14 March.

Villager u20 vs RANGERS Drew 5 – 5
