Villager Snippets Week 1

Welcome to the first edition of Villager Snippets!

This is a quick overview of the current happenings at the club and other noteworthy events. If you have any news or updates of current or past members that you would like to share with the club’s members please email marketing@villagerfc.co.za or dave@villagerfc.co.za.

We must also inform our members that although our communications has been a bit slow of late we are busy planning new ways of communicating effectively with all our members and an announcement will be made shortly about this. We are trying to provide the best communications, offers and events possible for our members but this takes time to implement. Please be patient, we will get there!

Regards,

Ross Williams

Marketing and Communications

Passing of Pieter Kellerman:

It is with great sadness that Villager learn of the passing of Pieter Kellerman who played for the club during the 1970’s. We send our condolences to Pieter’s family and friends during this difficult time.

Pieters Funeral will be held at the Dutch reformed Church in Rondebosch on Saturday 18 April at 3pm.

John Gainsford:

We have also come by the news that John Gainsford is not well at present. We wish him everything of the best and hope for a speedy recovery.

Social Media:

For those savvy enough to be on the various social media channels Villager is now on Snapchat and Instagram as well as the other more well known channels such as FacebookTwitter, Google +, Linkedin and Youtube. All usernames are villagerfc. We will also be looking to broadcast games using Meerkat or Periscope very soon.

Gym Club:

Although a bit late, we would like to express our thanks to the Gym Club for their generosity in purchasing the new benches on the deck. They are a welcomed addition to the club and are much appreciated by members and visitors alike.

Thanks guys!

The 1876 Club:

The 1876 Club launch was held a few weeks back and although a small number of members arrived we did get to hear the various opinions of those present.

Clothing: We will be launching the official 1876 Club clothing line in the next few weeks and it will be available to purchase online and at match days. The line is still in its infancy and although focussed on the current players at the moment we will be looking to add items for the older members with their input. Stay tuned for that!

Match day lunches: We will be looking to host our first 1876 Match Day Luncheon on the 2nd of May for the Tygerberg home game. We will make an official announcement in the coming week. To read more about it: http://www.villagerfc.co.za/your-club/hospitality-events/

Memberships: We are now collecting memberships for 2015 and encourage our members to take a look at the new membership offers we have. This can either be paid via direct EFT, at the Bar with Marty or online using our secure Payfast portal. Please visit http://www.villagerfc.co.za/your-club/membership/ to find out more about the memberships.

We are happy to say we have already received a few Gold and Silver memberships which is a great start! Thank you to those that have paid their memberships already!
