It’s Super Rugby time again and for the following months the teams will be doing battle in what is arguably the most demanding competition in world rugby. The Stormers have quality and depth and are relatively injury-free as they go into their first match against the Bulls at Loftus this coming Saturday. We wish them the very best of luck and, hopefully, it will be a memorable and successful season.
Don’t forget that the Saggy Stone Villager Restaurant and Pub will be geared for the away Stormers match. The match kicks off at 17h15 so bring the family and friends along for a bite and a drink and enjoy clubhouse fun in a rugby environment. Please also note that the restaurant is now also open for breakfasts (great prices) from 08h00 onwards.
Brookside is now in full swing again with rugby practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays. But there is also the Academy training sessions, squash, running, gym club, 6 down touch, frisbees, clinics all energetically going about their business as well as the Barleycorn Music gigs every Monday evening. A truly busy facility!
Please note that your 2018 membership cards will be deactivated at the end of February 2019. Please keep your cards as once you have paid your 2019 R500 subscription fee you can have them reactivated when you again visit the club. It will be hugely appreciated if there can be a 100% renewal and we would dearly love new additional members in order to hit our target of 150 members. For a club as famous as Villagers, 150 members should not even be remotely difficult to achieve!!!!
In closing, it will be much appreciated if you could see your way clear to possibly donate to the club a fridge and/or cupboard that you might have stored away and that you will not again use. It will be for the use of a very special and long-standing Villager stalwart. Please contact Dave Edwards if you require further information.
All of the best for Valentine’s Day in whichever way you might want to celebrate it!!!
